80m - 10m EFHW Tower Completed
After much effort, some help from neighbors, lots of digging and sweating in the hot August -October months, the tower finally came in existence. I was able to pour concrete around the base as well as providing 3 guy wires for stabilization. All that was left to get on HF was to hoist my antenna and do final termination and checks on my coax cable that I had ran from my shack to my feed point. All continuity checks were good so I proceeded to assemble everything and just like that I was able to successfully tune my antenna using my MFJ Deluxe Versa Tuner II to get on and start communicating over HF.
Since I have gotten this antenna on the air I have been able to start doing POTA Hunting as well as investing more time and effort into learning CW like I have always wanted to. Here are some images of the completed project. After I was able to get positive affirmation that I could get on all bands and was resonant within reason I went ahead and water sealed all components.
Thanks for checking out my final build. I know it may look like it was homebrewed and that was because it absolutely was. But, it is getting me all over. I will also provide some images of contacts/QSOs that I have made with this antenna.
