My First POTA Activation - 10/25/25

This was a special day for me as is each year on October 25. I was adopted on this day 43 years ago. I decided I would try to attempt my first POTA Activation up at F.D. Roosevelt State Park in Pine Mountain, GA. I learned many lessons about getting my antenna hoisted into a tree, since I had to do it about 3 times to get it correct. And I learned a lot about all that goes into preparing for such an event. To top it all off, it was a contest weekend, which means the frequencies would be flooded. I braved it anyway and thought I would make the most of it. As it turns out, it was a very successful day to be out in the field. Propagation was good and I was able to reel in 110 contacts in about 4 hours. I am already planning many more POTA Activations and this was just another milestone accomplished in my journey of life.
